The Capri Art and Community Council gathers periodically to listen and learn from everyone at the table (per lists above), with the goal of making the Capri a better arts venue, gathering place and rental space in the heart of North Minneapolis.

Conversations are always candid, instructive and enjoyable. For example:

We’ve reviewed a long list of artistic, community and civic events held at the Capri since the grand re-opening, and received comments and suggestions for other arts categories or activities that we should pursue.

We recently discussed the ramifications of upcoming parking changes at the Capri due to development of the NEON project next door and, potentially, the Blue Line light rail project.

We also ask members to bring their questions, and come prepared for robust discussions around the work of the Capri, such as:

  • How and why do you think the Capri is important to the Northside and the broader metro community?
  • What do you know about the Capri? What have you seen? What do you hear?
  • Have you attended a Capri event since we last met? If so, what did we do well? What could we do better?
