Guest Speakers Bring Real World Perspectives

Greta Callahan, Teacher Chapter President for the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers, and Catina Taylor, ESP Chapter President, recently visited with PYC students and taught about unions during 6th hour. 

Social Studies teacher David Boehnke said, “Everyone had a blast. Some students knew Greta from Kindergarten at Bethune while others grew up in the same Chicago neighborhood as Catina! Thanks to Kate for bringing her class — it made all the difference!”

Kerry Jo Felder, a previous school board member who is running again this fall, is scheduled to be the next guest speaker in Boehnke’s class.
