Welcome Kate Marschalk, Social Studies Teacher (photo right)

Kate came to PYC from Osseo Public Schools at the beginning of quarter 3. Welcome!

Kate grew up in Maple Grove and has traveled extensively; including to Italy and Ireland. She chose to teach social studies because she grew up watching the History Channel with her father. She grew to love history and wanted to make a difference in the vast world of education.

Kate is getting married next year to another teacher. Congrats!

Welcome Elizabeth Anderson, PYC English Teacher (photo left)

Elizabeth is originally from Minnesota and moved to the Twin Cities to pursue a degree in Education. She chose English because she enjoys literature and loves to improve reading and writing skills.

“Getting to read, write, and talk about stories all day is my dream job!”

“I think that high school is such an important part of life, it sets us down the road we will be on for the next part of our lives.”

“Students are really sorting through what they believe and who they want to be. I think it’s really rewarding to get to be a part of students’ lives during that time.”

Having loved tutoring at PYC while attending college, she decided to apply for a full-time teaching position here. “I really enjoy being a part of the PYC family!”
