“…You can tell just by looking at it. I mean, look around you. Students are in class, learning. Teachers are in class, teaching. Other staff people are walking around and checking in with students. Oh yeah, this is a good school.”
A parent shared these comments with me during a recent student intake meeting at PYC Arts & Tech. And you know what? She was right. We are a good school! During our intake meetings we talk with potential students and parents or guardians about our innovative staff, our stress-response and trauma-informed ways, our famous arts-infused instruction, and our valuable college and career services offerings. Most importantly, we tell them that we care for every one of our students and do everything we can to help our students reach their goals.
In other news, life at PYC did not slow down one bit during the winter months. We’ve been busy with field trips to local art museums and playhou ses around the Twin Cities. We have been creatively working with our young people when they push against the envelope. But most of all, we’ve been busy educating our students in the best ways we know how – fully committed to their well-being and success.
Please feel free to call or send me an email if you have any questions or need more information. And as always, I wish you well.
